ABT1 May 26, 2024 at Telford Lake in Leduc

The Alberta Sprint Racing Canoe Association (ASRCA) serves as the provincial governing body to promote and develop the sport of Sprint Canoe & Kayak in Alberta. ASRCA will hold the first of two 2024 Alberta Team Trials (Spring - ABT1 & Fall - ABT2) as part of the ongoing assessment of provincial sprint canoe and kayak competitors and utilize results to nominate athletes for Provincial Teams. 

  • Location  – Leduc, Telford Lake
  • Date – Sunday, May 26, 2024
  • Events – C1 and K1: 2000m Time Trials and 200m Races
  • Registration form is below
                       – Open May 10
                       – Due by May 20, 11:59 pm
                       – Entry Fee:  $50 including lunch / $40 if no lunch
                                        - $60 late entry (after May 20)
  • Team Leaders Meeting – Wednesday, May 22, 7:00 pm MST                                                                              -A video call link will be sent out to required attendees on May 21

Purpose
a)   Establish discipline and overall provincial athlete ranking lists
b)   Monitor the state of the competitive provincial population (Depth of Field Inventory)
c)   Nominate athletes to the Alberta 2024 Canada Cup Race Team "Team AB."

 

Eligibility

a)   Open to ASRCA club members; of all ages; who are in good standing with the ASRCA clubs.

b)  Athletes must be current competitive members with Canoe Kayak Canada (RAMP Registration).

c)   Entries must have the endorsement of a Sprint Canoe Kayak Coach (ELCC minimum). Coaches should use sound judgment as athletes must complete the course within the scheduled time.

d)  Club uniforms are not required.
