COVID-19 GUIDANCE

When can member clubs re-start?

In the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic, ASRCA asks the member clubs, coaches and paddlers to respect Municipal, Provincial and Federal health authorities.

As authorities begin to relax isolation guidelines, we remind members to consider the elevated health risk to our paddlers, coaches and volunteers. We must continue to prioritize our personal and community safety, erring on the side of caution.

Paddling programs may only commence when Health authorities modify applicable restrictions and closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Can I go it alone?

While member clubs have suspended or limited operations, individuals with personal equipment who choose to paddle on their own do so independently of the member organization and at their own risk. Paddlers should respect the Canoe Kayak Canada Code of Safety and restrictions as they relate to access, physical distancing and limitations on numbers regarding gatherings.

Caution to coaches and volunteers

When communicating with the club(s) or team members, coaches and volunteers must carefully understand the safe sport, liability and insurance considerations around their communication and direction.

Covid-19 altered our lives, and this is a challenging time. We are all eager to get back on the water and resume normal activities. However, the safety of our members and the health of our community is our top concern. Act accordingly and safely to minimize risk for yourself and your fellow paddlers.

Thanks to all members for the continued understanding as we make plans for a safe return to the water.
