GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The role of the Team Manager will be to provide leadership and logistical support to the athletes, coaches and parents of the Alberta 2022 Canada Games Sprint Canoe-Kayak Team. The term of this volunteer position will run from (May 1, 2022) until completing all post-Games responsibilities (August 22, 2022). The Team Manager will operate under the guidance and support of the ASRCA Excellence Lead (EL). The successful candidate will require SafeSport Training and a Criminal Record Check.
Experience and qualifications will determine if applicants get contacted for an interview.

Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

Must have proven ability to develop and implement plans on time and within budget

Abilities to complete administrative tasks promptly and meet deadlines

Ability to multi-task efficiently with minimal supervision

Must have an excellent working knowledge of the sport of Sprint Canoe-Kayak Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint rules

Experience leading teams at previous Canada Games or major multi-sport Games is an asset.

Develop a positive rapport with athletes, coaches, parents, and Team Mission Staff.

Understand, communicate, and conduct themself at all times as a professional in their dealings with all athletes, coaches, parents and officials.

Facilitate communication with media for results, feature interviews, and a heightened awareness of the team provincially before, during and after the Games.

Communicate all seminar schedules and arrangements to athletes, coaches and parents.

Attend Canada Games meetings when requested and provide updates.

Attend the 2022 Canada Games and carry out all manager and chaperoning functions necessary at the Games.

Participate in post Games reports and help develop and implement recommendations for future Games.

The manager and coaches are responsible for the athletes 24 hours a day from departure to the Canada Games until discharged to club coaches, parents or guardians.

Be responsible for all athletes and coaches' health information and emergency contacts.

Responsible for attending Team Manager meetings and sharing information as necessary.

Have daily contact with the assigned Mission Staff and collect mail at the Mission Office at Competition.

In the event of unacceptable behaviour, the manager will determine and administer the appropriate disciplinary measures and record such incidents in writing.
