ASRCA Ski Camp

The Alberta Sprint Racing Canoe Association is looking forward to the upcoming overnight ski camp on February 1-2, 2025! This is meant to bring all Alberta sprint canoe/kayak athletes together for a weekend filled with cross country skiing, fun, fitness training, team bonding, games, and activities.

On February 1, athletes will arrive at the hotel (Stoneridge Mountain Resort) in Canmore at 4:00pm to check in to 2-3 bedroom suites with fellow athletes. Once settled into the rooms and after eating supper, there will be a night filled with games, activities, and team bonding. Bright and early Sunday morning, athletes will head over to the Nordic Center for some world-class cross country skiing and have an exciting day outdoors. There will be a 90 minute lesson available by CANSI certified ski instructors for athletes who would like to learn cross country skiing from an expert. If cross country skiing is familiar to you, groups without requested instruction will be led by our CSG staff and ASRCA volunteers. There is a cafe onsite at the Nordic Center that sells food and drinks for athletes to purchase food and drinks throughout the day.

Eligible athletes must:

  • Be an Alberta permanent resident
  • Be an athlete and registered member of an ASRCA Member Club
  • Be a minimum 15 years of age on Jan 1, 2025. Be responsible, trustworthy, mature and self sufficient to take part in a weekend event.

The cost for the athlete is $100 and includes 1 night accommodation, transportation between the hotel and ski center, day pass for cross country skiing, and if requested a 1.5 hour group lesson with an expert instructor and ski equipment rental. Meals/food are not included in this cost and will be an additional cost to the athletes. Transportation to/from the lodging in Canmore is the responsibility of the athlete.

The deadline to register for this event is 11:59 AM on Friday December 27, 2024. There are limited spots available and spots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.

Waivers, Consent and Code of Conduct forms must be signed by athletes/parents/guardians for all athletes in attendance.

If there are less than 10 athletes from the Calgary Canoe Club who sign up for this event, the location of this event may change to the Edmonton area.
