Many Alberta communities have excellent water, help us bring to it a truly Canadian Sport. Canoe/Kayak is one of Canada's top-performing Olympic sports, and most of all, kids love playing in kayaks on the lake. Who knows, maybe we will find some future Team Canada Paddlers. Perhaps you know the perfect pond, lake or river!
ASRCA can provide support and guidance at every step of the way: Certified instructors, equipment or organizational support. ASRCA endorsed coaches are Certified in First Aid and CPR and with the Canadian National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and CanoeKayak Canada (CKC).
A typical program for a first-time community is a series of 2-week (10 lessons) sessions over the summer months. On completion of the 2-week, paddlers will be ready to show off the new skills in a fun regatta. The athlete's target age is 9-14; however, each community can customize to best suit.
Safety: Participants must have a Swim Level of Aquaquest 6 and or demonstrate equivalent (Canoe Kayak Canada Standard). PFDs are required at all times.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to add paddling fun to the water near you.
