Congratulations to the following athletes selected for a pre-Canada Summer Games 2022 training opportunity. Based on the Alberta Team Assessment event (ABT1) results, athletes are invited to join Alberta Canada Summer Games Coaches at the Calgary Canoe Club, July 23-25, 2021. The athlete selection process is in section F of the ABT1 information package https://asrca.com/pages/abt1-july-10-2021.

ASRCA CSG Coaches: Graham Schiebel and Ornmadee Baxter-Lovo

Purpose
The camp provides the opportunity for coaches and potential CSG athletes to become acquainted and begin the teambuilding process. Coaches will assess athlete performance and make recommendations, provide crew boat opportunities and set expectations for the coach athlete relationship.
Travel & Equipment
Athletes traveling to Calgary are responsible for transportation and to bring a single (K1 of C1). If athletes are unable to bring their boat, they must arrange a boat for themselves prior to their arrival. If struggling for a boat please contact Ornmadee or Graham.
Accommodations
Host billets can be arranged if need for Friday and Saturday; please notify Ornmadee or Graham by Wednesday, July 21, 2021 to help find the billets.
What to Expect
First training session is 5PM, Friday July 23, at the Calgary Canoe Club. Following this, a training program for the weekend will be provided. Athletes will engage in on-water singles and crews training, and general fitness activities. The training camp ends Sunday at 3PM.
What to Bring
Athletes are responsible for bringing their own boat, paddle, training clothes, watch and equipment for both on-water and dryland activities. Athletes will also need to bring a small amount of money ($30) for a team event occurring Saturday evening. They may also wish to bring training snacks for throughout the day.
