VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Alberta Trials #2: Oct 1, 2023 / Calgary

The second of two 2023 Alberta Team trial events will be held at the Calgary Canoe Club on Sunday, October 1, 2023. This is a provincial event and will assist ASRCA (Alberta Sprint Racing Canoe Association) with the ongoing monitoring of the provincial sprint canoe-kayak athlete pool. ASRCA may utilize results to identify athletes for provincial initiatives.

We are looking for volunteers to help run the event.

The event will comprise C1 and K1 races over the distances of 200m, 1000m and 2000m. More information on the event can be found HERE.

We require a total of about 25 volunteers for the following positions: ▪ Power boat drivers (valid Boat Operators License required);
▪ On-water officials/ referees;
▪ On-water safety boat assistants;

▪ Starter;
▪ Assistant Starter;
▪ Boat control official;
▪ Boat control assistants;
▪ Finish Line Judges & Timers (in the Finish tower for timing & position tracking); ▪ Video Operator (in the Finish tower to record the races);
▪ Competition Secretary (to record & post results);
▪ Result Runners;
▪ Regatta Safety Officer;
▪ Athlete Lunch volunteers.

Please note that you do not require any previous experience to volunteer for any of the above positions.
