Kayak Kids

The Alberta Sprint Racing Canoe Association’s Kayak Kids program is the perfect way to introduce your child to the exciting world of canoeing and kayaking. In a safe, supportive, and fun environment, kids gain confidence on the water, learn new skills, and connect with nature.

The Alberta Sprint Racing Canoe Association is excited to announce our Kayak Kids programming for summer 2025. We have worked hard to expand our programming and are proud to have sprint canoe/kayak in the following locations:

Lacombe Lake (Lacombe County - Zone 4)

Bear Lake (Grande Prairie - Zone 8)

Mckenzie Lake (Calgary - Zone 3)

Lake Chaparral (Calgary - Zone 3)

ASRCA is looking to partner with communities, organizations, or groups interested in adding the sport of canoeing and kayaking to their community. We have already planned programming for 2025, but in no time will start organizing the 2026 Kayak Kids program.

Many Alberta communities have excellent water, help us bring to it a truly Canadian Sport. Canoe/Kayak is one of Canada's top-performing Olympic sports, and most of all, kids love paddling on the lake. Who knows, maybe we will find some future Team Canada Paddlers. Perhaps you know the perfect pond, lake or river!

ASRCA can provide support and guidance at every step of the way: Certified instructors, equipment or organizational support. ASRCA endorsed coaches are Certified in First Aid and CPR and with the Canadian National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and CanoeKayak Canada (CKC). For safety, PFDs must be worn at all times.

The athlete's target age is 7-12; however, each community can customize to best suit.

Please email us at admin@asrca.com if you want to add paddling fun to the water near you.
